Reveal blind spots in
AML due diligence

Assess client and counterparty risks, prioritize enhanced due diligence, and monitor developments between KYC reviews.

Money laundering risk extends beyond suspicious transactions. Reports of corruption, fraud, and other misconduct provide an outside-in perspective on how companies conduct business, helping banks assess client and counterparty risk throughout a business relationship.

The challenge is maintaining a current view of that risk across thousands of companies, markets, and languages. Banks must identify relevant developments, assess the underlying incidents and sources, and prioritize relationships for further investigation through a consistent, risk-based approach to due diligence.

Support risk-based AML due diligence
throughout the client relationship

Risk-based assessment and ongoing monitoring are central to AML frameworks, including the EU Anti-Money Laundering Regulation (AMLR). Business conduct risk information adds context to these assessments, helping banks identify changes that may require closer review.

Risk-based customer assessment

Assess specific business conduct risks using Due Diligence Scores (DDS). Screen corporate clients and counterparties on selected topics, including money laundering, fraud, and corruption, to identify risk concentrations relevant to the bank’s AML policies.

Incorporate business conduct risk into the customer risk rating. Compare relevant DDS against bank-defined thresholds to inform the conduct-risk component of the assessment, alongside geography, ownership, products, and other customer information.

Understand the evidence behind a screening result. Investigate underlying incidents in the RepRisk Platform, examining reported conduct, severity, dates, the company’s involvement, and original sources before determining the appropriate level of further review.

Ongoing monitoring

Extend monitoring across the corporate client base with watchlists and alerts. Follow selected clients and counterparties in the RepRisk Platform and receive alerts on newly identified business conduct risk incidents, including relationships previously assessed as lower risk.

Identify developments between scheduled KYC reviews. Use daily-updated incident information and relevant DDS to assess whether new reporting changes the bank’s understanding of a customer and should trigger reassessment, escalation, or enhanced due diligence.

Embed updated information into client lifecycle workflows. Integrate RepRisk data through APIs and Data Feeds so internal systems can apply bank-defined review rules and make relevant information available to KYC and compliance teams.

Enhanced due diligence

Focus investigation on the specific risks driving an elevated assessment. Use topic-level DDS to identify areas requiring closer scrutiny, then examine the corresponding incidents in the RepRisk Platform.

Evaluate the company’s reported involvement and incident history. Review the nature, severity, timing, and geographic context of reported misconduct. Distinguish new reporting on an existing case from separate incidents and examine the original sources.

Prepare targeted client questions and support escalation. Use the incident evidence to identify points requiring clarification, assess information supplied by the client, and inform the bank’s decision on further investigation or the relationship.

Documenting the assessment

Link review findings to dated incidents and public sources. Reference the RepRisk information considered during an assessment so reviewers can trace reported developments back to the supporting evidence.

Apply a consistent evidence base across functions. Use standardized DDS and structured incident information to support assessments by relationship managers, KYC teams, and financial crime compliance.

Support the bank’s record of decisions and actions. Incorporate relevant scores, incidents, and source references into internal review documentation, alongside the bank’s reasoning, escalation decisions, and subsequent monitoring actions.

The data behind OECD-aligned due diligence
Look beyond self reported data with independent
risk lenses to assess, compare, and prioritize risk

RepRisk Index (RRI)
A dynamic 0–100 score quantifying an entity's exposure to business conduct and reputational risk, calibrated for practical thresholds and decay over time.

RepRisk Rating (RRR)
An AAA–D letter rating that blends company-specific exposure with Country-Sector risk, supporting benchmarking and integration in credit and risk models.

UN Global Compact Violator Flag
Identifies companies with high or potential risk of violating UNGC Principles, with visibility into operations vs. supply chain exposure.

Due Diligence Scores (DDS)
Assess and prioritize your exposure to risks such as human rights violations, nature and biodiversity, while aligning with frameworks and regulations including SASB, SFDR, OECD, and the SDGs.

SDG Risk Lens
A mapping of 108 risk factors to the 17 SDGs, showing where a company may be reversing progress, with sector-based benchmarking.

Country–Sector Matrix & Geospatial Analytics
Quantify risk at country, sector, and country-sector levels and assess proximity of extractive projects to biodiversity-sensitive sites for location-aware decisions.

See beyond the headline risk indicator

Due Diligence Scores (DDS) provide granular company-level scores across more than 200 business conduct risk factors. Linked to the underlying incidents, they reveal specific risk concentrations, while the DDS OECD Guidelines for MNE Package brings together relevant scores through a focused OECD lens.
